Environmental Management is a crucial part of combination development as well as ongoing sustainable development in the assessment of proposed projects and the auditing of existing undertakings. MMA conduct statutory environmental assessments of proposed projects from compiling Project Briefs to enable the Swaziland Environment Authority (SEA) to screen and categorize projects; through to obtaining project authorization by the SEA
Environmental Assessments comprise Initial Environmental Evaluations (IEE), Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and Strategic Environmental Assessments (StrEA). MMA conducts Project Compliance Monitoring and compile Project Compliance Reports. All reports of statutory environmental assessments and audits are compiled in accordance with the Environmental Audit, Assessment and Review Regulations, 2000 and are submitted to the Swaziland Environment Authority for review and approval.
Liaising with the SEA on behalf of clients throughout the environmental assessment process is included in the services provided. MMA also conduct Socio-economic Surveys for proposed development projects and programmes. These are conducted as stand-alone surveys and, where required, as part of the environmental assessment process.
